Word of mouth remains a powerful tool for your business

It’s been proven time and time again — one of your most powerful weapons as a marketer is your customers! A recent eMarketer article covered a study by BIGresearch called the "Simultaneous Media Study" which deals with the power of "word of mouth" marketing.
The study found that a whopping 94.1% of respondents give advice to others about products or services they use — and of that number, 28.7% regularly offer this kind of consumer advice. On top of that, the study found that 91% of consumers seek product advice from others — and16.2% of them do it regularly.
In other words, the more good things your customers have to say about you to their friends and family, the better!
So make sure you encourage your customers to spread the word about your products. Consider putting a "tell a friend" button on your website, or offering a free gift or discount to anyone who sends a new customer your way. And, of course, the ultimate way to get your customers promoting your products for you is to start your own affiliate program!
Your customers could end up being your greatest salespeople — so do what you can to help them do their "job"!
