Use RSS technology to stay on your customers' radar!
In a recent post, I talked about how I personally use RSS to stay on top of all the Web content I check out on a daily basis. That's a HUGE benefit of RSS technology... I get everything I need, right where I need it, and I don't have to spend hours searching around the Internet trying to find it!
That's because RSS feeds allow you to pull fresh content from any number of web sites to a single location (as long as those web sites actually offer an RSS feed) using a "feed reader" or "aggregator." It's a fantastic time saver.
But saving time is not the only benefit of using RSS in your business... It can also be a great Internet marketing tool!
RSS technology offers you a ton of new ways to connect with your customers and potential clients that literally didn't exist before now. It enables you to provide YOUR content quickly and easily to your target market, without worrying about things like e-mail deliverability. The information arrives instantly and unfiltered in your audience's RSS readers, the very second they subscribe to your feed, or you update it.
Not only that, but every single time your updated feed shows up in their reader, they are directed back to your web site to see the original article or post. You never disappear off of your customers' radar with RSS!
What's more, your feeds are also listed on feed "archive sites" and RSS search engines like Feedster. If someone searches for a certain keyword or topic on one of these sites, your RSS feed will pop up in the results, driving more traffic back to your web site.
Even if you're not a "techie," RSS feeds are really easy to set up with the right tools. You can choose between using an RSS publishing and hosting service like My RSS Creator or even create and host them on your own web server (if you have one) using software like FeedForAll.
